Basic Space is delight to announces Paper Visual Art as the first recipient of the Basic Space Research Residency, beginning December 2016.

Paper Visual Art Journal is a primarily online journal of art criticism, established in 2009, producing seven, place-specific, hard-copy editions to date. In the provision of studio space and institutional support, Basic Space looks to foster the continued production of the Paper Visual Art Journal and PVAs online critical platform. PVA has created vital forums for art criticism in a time of diminished and reduced capacity in Dublin and Ireland, serving an essential role in the dissemination of clear, accessible writing on art topics that aren’t being addressed elsewhere.

BS/RR is a continuation of Basic Space’s commitment to research and writing practices, and the dissemination of contemporary art discourse through education programming and research opportunities.

Basic Space welcomes Paper Visual Art to the BS/RR and looks forward to further developing art writing and criticism opportunities.
