Basic Space seek two new Co-Directors to join the team.
About Basic Space:
Basic Space is an independent art organisation based in Dublin. Basic Space operates a programme of residencies, exhibitions, and talks in collaboration with external art organisations, institutions, and practitioners. Our mission is to generate space and opportunities for emerging artists and arts practitioners in Ireland. Our aim is to develop and broaden our network in Ireland and internationally.
The roles:
We are seeking two new Co-Directors, each with a particular focus and responsibility, to join Basic Space in the development and facilitation of our 2019 - 2020 programme.
Role 1: Co-Director, Education
Responsibilities:
Running our monthly Basic Talks programme at the Hugh Lane Gallery which takes place on the 2nd Friday of the month
Seeking out opportunities for, and running, our Annual BS/AR (Basic Space Artist Residency)
Role 2: Co-Director, Fundraising
Responsibilities:
Seeking out funding opportunities
Carrying out and overseeing funding applications
Researching and carrying out fundraising campaigns
Other Co-Director responsibilities:
General management, development and administration of the organisation in consultation with Basic Space Co-Directors
Supporting the Co-Directors in all areas of the organisation including programming, education, fundraising, archiving and more
Developing relationships and partnerships with external organisations and practitioners
Social Media
Maintaining the Basic Space Nival archive
Other duties and opportunities as they arise
We seek Co-Directors who are motivated, team players, able to work on their own initiative, and dedicated to the arts and creating opportunities for artists and arts practitioners. The desirable candidate will have prior experience in arts management and running creative projects, and should have a background as an artist, curator, project manager, or have a desire to move into this area of work.
Co-Director commitments:

Voluntary position
Minimum commitment of 1 year
5 - 10 hours work per week with flexibility
Co-Director meetings on a tri-weekly basis in Temple Bar on Monday evenings from 6 - 7pm (Wednesdays when falling on a Bank Holiday)
